In the series, Asylum by Madeleine Roux readers will be able to follow Dan Crawford and his friends as they participate in a program in a building that once was a psychiatric hospital. With the building being as old as it is, odd sounds are bound to occur, aren’t they? As you follow them on their journey will you be able to handle the terrifying experiences they experience as they learn the different secrets that are hidden from the past residents within the Asylum walls?

The Carrie Diaries

Do you ever need a good laugh, or to read something that makes you feel better about how life is going for you? If you are able to answer yes to these questions, then reading The Carrie Diaries series may be a fantastic series for you. Throughout the series, you will follow Carrie Bradshaw through the ups and downs that the final two years of high school tends to throw at you. From boyfriends to disagreements with her dad, you will have the chance to laugh and perhaps even relate to the events that you perhaps once thought to be the make-it-or break-it in life.

Another thing that readers can keep in mind as they read through the series is that although there is a show based on the book series, there are bits and pieces that they will miss out on if they don’t read the books.

Are you into folklore and the world of witches, vampires, and werewolves? If the answer is yes and you enjoyed reading the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, then we highly recommend that you pick up the first book of the Vampire Diaries series written by L.J. Smith.

Now the title of the series may sound familiar to some of you despite having never considered reading the book or looking at the book series and we wanted to let you know that, that isn’t a surprise. Along with being a book series, it is a popular show that you can find on Netflix that first aired on CW in 2009. Although watching the series is an option we highly recommend, you should also read the books as they are not only well written but have specific parts that you will be unable to see in the show itself.

The premise of the series is that young Elena Gilbert has recently lost both her parents in a car accident. On the first day back to school she meets the good-looking Stephan Salvador in an accidental run-in, or so she is led to believe. Stephan, who is actually a vampire, hasn’t been able to stop thinking about her and had been anticipating bumping into her. 

During their run in, Elena is unaware that from this moment on her life will be forever changed. Unbeknownst to Elena and many others in her town Mystic Falls, there is a history involving the folklore of witches, vampires, and werewolves. And l folklore and legends are all just a bunch of stories right?

As you read through the first book in this series and continue on you will learn how not only there is so much more to it but you will also encounter a love triangle between Elena and the two Salvador vampire brothers. Who will she choose and just how far will the brothers go to try and win Elena's love?

This book series brings about the ideas of good versus evil and what it means to have to make a choice. By picking up this book and starting this intense series by Michael Grant readers will have a chance to experience how a world similar to today's changes in an instant with no notice. One moment you and your family members are all going about your day when “POOF!” All a sudden you look around and notice that all the adults are gone. No one knows where they went, or how to get them back. 

At the same time, all those seventeen years of age and younger begin to realize that you have the ability to perform tasks you have never been able to do. With the new world to live in you are left with the option of how you are going to not only go about your life but also whether you are going to be a hero or a villain with these newfound abilities you have.  As you read through this you will see if characters choose to be heroes or villains as well as what the consequences of a world of no adults and unimaginable human abilities may be.

If you are looking for a page-turning mystery and or thriller then this is the book for you. Tessa Waye has been found dead yet the recent entry “Find Me” has been written in her diary. It isn’t until the killer's next target is picked that the search for Tessa’s killer is on. Will her killer be found before it is too late? Or will they successfully get to their next target, Lizzy?
